Backing up is not hard to do...

I have an external harddrive that I use to back up the information on my computer, I try to do this every week or so, just in case something were to happen to my computer. I learned the hard way after losing everything several years ago. There are people that prefer to use an online backup system, which does has some advantages, especially if some sort of natural disaster or other disaster such as a fire happened, your information would be stored somewhere else. Whether you opt for the way I do it or using an online system, I recommend doing something. Most of us store quite a few important pictures and documents on our computers that would be very hard to replace...

Another good back up system is to back up your data on another external hard drive and bring that to the bank in a safe deposit box, or a few DVDs if you don't have alot of data to back up. This way if there is a diaster at your home, then your pictures, docs, and other stuff is offsite and you still have it.

I don't like the online backup sites becuase then I am at the mercy of someone else's system and though you may get money back for lost data that they are suppose to protect, you still lose your pictues and stuff forever.

Hi Lisa, I think I'm caught up with your blog from the last time I checked it out. Miss me? :)

A friend of mine has some kind of fancy wire box that he stores a back up hard drive with all his data backed up. The box is supposed to provide a safe environment in the event of electronic storms such as super sun spot activity or nuclear detonation. Sounded like a survivalist mentality, sort of extreme; but there was a hint of common sense to it at the same time.
