Let the Supreme Speculation Begin!

I came across this while doing my blogosphere catch up tonight, Rhymes with Right suggests a candidate we've never discussed. However? She is a Michigander and while conservative (and Catholic, yes I'm still working on overthrowing the world) she does appear to be very qualified.

Michigan Supreme Court Justice Maura Corrigan.....

There is alot of information at the link, however this one statement to me alone demonstrates she does have the idea of what the Supreme Court is supposed to be about:

The constant temptation in judging is to be expedient, to reach out and fix what appears to be wrong. I know that I was not elected as chief justice of the Michigan Supreme Court to be a philosopher-king.

Granted I still believe the Miers nomination got the token female candidate out of the way but I have been wrong before...I fell for the whole Edith scenario last time.

Lisa,
Judge Maura Corrigan sounds almost too good to be true.

So, that immediately disqualifies her...

I too, expect a male, possibly unknown, to be thrown to the lions next...
