And people thought I was crazy....

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (AP) -- Michelle Duggar just delivered her 16th child, and she's already thinking about doing it again.

Johannah Faith Duggar was born at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and weighed 7 pounds, 6.5 ounces.

The baby's father, Jim Bob Duggar, a former state representative, said Wednesday that mother and child were doing well. Johannah's birth was especially exciting because it was the first time in eight years the family has had a girl, he said.

Jim Bob Duggar, 40, said he and Michelle, 39, want more children.

I would have had more, not that many - lol but I'm happy with five now. I wonder though with all of the kids having a first name that starts with "J" how many times they call the wrong one - HEY YOU! Yeah YOU!

"Michelle Duggar just delivered her 16th child..."

Ah, someone from the old country ;-)

16 "chitterlings" in this day and age, what's that about?

Michelle, has anyone ever told you about birth control (like an aspirin between the knees)?

I wonder, who's going to be financially responsable for these children?

If the Duggers are, then more power to them both and:

Carry on...

If however, we are, then:

STOP IT RIGHT NOW!

I know they have gotten alot of media support/money HT, but sounds like he is doing well enough to be able to pay for alot of it. I haven't seen anywhere where they are getting aid.

I bet they are Catholic and don't use birth control. Sixteen? I would have left at five. I know, I'm not a good role model at that. That is why we stopped at two and then I went under the knife. I'm not a good Catholic either. But, as I have said, God tells us we are all sinners; why disappoint the Man?

Ever noticed these kinds of stories always come from the Midwest with well off white couples. The wife had to have been 17 or 18 when they started. She needed some time to heal between children. God bless the couple since they have lost their minds.

If people are donating money and stuff to the family, fine, but don't expect me to me happy if they get government assistance because they want to start their own race. If I got governmet money to populate the planet I wouldn't have gotten married nor go under the knife. ;)

I think that is crazy. I am a bad Catholic too, but I wonder if she beats her kids to keep them in line. With 16 I would imagine that they need old school discipline.

Doesn't help stereotypes, does it? :)

I don't know if there are Catholic "Jim Bob's." I think they are usually Baptist

okay this is funny Baby 15

Michelle, who homeschools her children and is helping to build the family's new home in Tontitown from the ground up, started having her babies when she was 21, four years after she and Jim Bob married. Her 38-year-old husband is a real estate businessman.

14 kids

Michelle Duggar just won the "Young Mother of the Year Award" in Arkansas, which is sponsored by American Mothers Incorporated.

The Duggars are a very religious, Southern Baptist family

Dad and the two oldest boys are building a 7,000-square-foot house. The Duggar dream house will have bathrooms galore, a commercial kitchen and one heck of a laundry room.

"We'll have four washers and eight dryers," says Jim Bob Duggar. "Yes, a laundromat."

How do they afford it? Jim Bob Duggar made some smart investments, and they're pretty frugal. The Duggars shop in bulk, basketfuls at a time.

All the kids' names start with the letter J. There's something slightly off in that. This woman, without a doubt, does not function properly in the head. I don't know what it is, I'm not a doctor, I only play one on the web, but she certainly has some imbalance in her brain that has her leaning quite a distance from "normal."

And what those people ought to realize is this world is way too over-populated. There is poverty here in America, children going to bed hungry. One nation south families live in such poverty that rats in America have nicer homes and better food to eat. You don't have to go that far away from cities like Tijuana and Nuevo Laredo to see it firsthand. In Africa children die every single minute of the day because they don't have what we Americas take for granted - simple medicines to prevent easily curable illnesses, clean water, and food. Children never have a chance to have a childhood.

How much money will it cost that Arkansas woman and her husband to raise all those 16 children until Age 18? On average a parent spends $250,000 on a child not including college. All that money spent on 16 children could save a couple thousand lives of children who will otherwise die. So pathetic. So selfish. Any couple who willingly decides they're not going to have even one child so that that can help other children instead, that couple is the perfect example of how more people should be living their lives in the 21st Century. More people = more problems for people and the land of Earth. Giving birth to one child means hundreds will die. Giving birth to 16 children? Just sad.

Thats an interesting point, I personally don't want to look at it as my having five children led to the death of others. However I see what you mean by that and it is true that we could all be doing more. Especially in places like Darfur which I actively support.
