Israel’s continued truce violations are provocative and should be halted immediately, said a statement from the National Resistance Brigades (NRB), the armed wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) Friday.
Israel’s violations include the serious injury of two fishermen Thursday, repeated invasions from the border areas and artillery fire resulting in the death of three civilians since the Israeli ceasefire was called.
“These violations” said the NRB, “are provocative to the Palestinian resistance and if continued will force a response to the Israeli occupation.” The statement added that Israel is looking for a justification for re-launching its attacks on Gaza.
Also as no big surprise, Israeli officers accused of crimes in Gaza can expect to have legal representation.
Also no huge shocker, Hamas and Fatah are still at it. With Israel being blamed for not destroying Hamas...

Maan is not a Hamas group, it is a non-profit media organization and their reporting has proven to be just as accurate as other media sources.

As much as I would trust any media source, most of the information they report ends up being confirmed at least in part by other sources.
look at who they got the quote and notice they only say according to ...
had they a more credible source they would have used it
alas, this is running into an area neither of us are experts in. I just never trust sources too close to the issues
Aren't sources that are there in the middle of it more likely to be accurate? I'm not saying how I feel one way or the other on the issue. I think Israel has a right to defend itself. I also think the Palestinians have a right to live freely.
I've read news from outside of the US for over a decade, there are some that have demonstrated that their sources can be questionable at times, but Maan is not one that I've found to be wrong often. The only area I've found they differ is when it comes to reporting the dead and injured, they report higher numbers than the Israeli media, which means the truth likely lies in between.
It's like those who claim alJazeera is not reliable, they are much more reliable than a source like WorldNet Daily when it comes to stories that are reported that end up being confirmed by other media sources.
I have to agree with Barga, look where the source got it's source. I would definitely want to see this confirmed by a more reliable organization before I pass judgment either way.
Examples of other sources reporting similar stories:
Russia Today who was recognized in 2007 with an Media Excellence award for coverage on a story.
Even Haaretz reported on the continued bombing but states that it was Hamas who shot first link which was what was stated when this all started that Hamas started first which was then debated back and forth.
So there is enough other evidence out there that suggests that the source is correct on the deaths and the violence continuing.
Part of the problem is the fact that journalists are not allowed access and those that were there were being targeted. It creates a situation where the information coming from Palestine has to be judged in relation from what is being reported from Israel and from Palestine, looking for the areas where the two agree.

Why not run a series of blog entries that truly promote peace amongst all?
I heard Joe the Plumber has been retained to report from the Gaza area. Maybe, he could be another "reliable" source. hrumphf!
It seems to me that these types of postings are really promoting continued discord, prejudice, animosity, and point-the-finger syndrome, which only compound the difficulty in resolving the situation.
Roland, that's kind of hard to do when we can't even agree on the basics as to what is really happening there and who do we believe.
Perhaps some big media company will hire me and send me over there, then maybe I could try to actually report what's really happening rather than to blame the media as Joe the Plumber did.

Actually, LisaRenee, I think that's a great idea. I can see it now: LisaRenee the roving political blogger reporter. It really would be fantastic! Now, how can we turn the idea into reality. You've certainly made some inroads these past couple years with newspaper and radio and television coverage of your blogging, etc. The credibility is there!
