Wow...lots of angry Oprah fans...

Even though it was stated by Oprah that the Drudge Report story that she has not refused to have Sarah Palin on the show is not true that:
“The item in today’s Drudge Report is categorically untrue. There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.” – Oprah Winfrey, September 5, 2008

Not many of her fans are buying it especially since if you use the search option for the shows community page you can see how often Barack Obama or Michelle have gotten "love" from a media source connected to Oprah - 62 and the five mentions of Palin? all related to negative either when a woman should step back from her career or related to teen pregnancy.

Some of the reaction is pretty extreme an example of both pro and con Palin:

After over a decade of your show I thought you were a humanist first, a feminist second, and an American third. But this is the latest in a string of events that shows that liberalism and racism trumps everything else in your heart. I despise McCain and was going to vote for Obama. However, I will vote for McCain/Palin because Sarah is smarter, has more experience actually managing (as opposed to voting on bills which even a monkey could do), and is more down to earth than any other candidate. If I have to vote for McCain to wait 4 years to get a common sense lady like Sarah as president then I am willing to do it. At the same time, I will vote to end my Oprah viewing. There are other and better role models to show my children.

Sarah Palin is a divisive disgusting individual, there is no need to have that kind of individual on a show, she is full of hate. The Oprah show is all about positivity.

The positivity comment is laughable if you look at what the Oprah connected media covered on Palin. I quit watching Oprah years ago, but it will be interesting to see if this really does affect her ratings or if this was an onslaught of non-watchers chiming in.

I rarely watch Oprah. But, she's can basically do what she wants. I think it's best for Sarah Palin to stay away from the entertainment shows, unless she is trying to sell a book or fronting a charity.

I use to watch Oprah, but have turned the show off. Oprah has promoted herself for many years as a woman concerned about women and women's issues. She encourages women to be strong. However, she did not have Hillary Clinton on the show and then recently did not have Sarah Palin on as well. She did however, have her own personal candidate on the show early and made great attempts to promote him to her audience as a presidential candidate. Afterwards, she closed the door to other candidates and announced that her show would not be a "political platform" for the election. She certainly is entitled to put whomever she would like on the show. And she is entitled to endorse a candidate. However, it is noticeable when a person's actions are not congruent with their words and when they snub their friends. In this case, her friends are the very people who helped to make her wealthy. I agree, I don't think Sarah Palin should be on the show. She has encounted enough bias from people who simply because they don't agree with her politically chose to treat her in an inappropriate manner. Oprah has made a decision w/i her right. Her viewing audience can make a decision w/i their right and that has been in many cases to turn the show off, stop buying the magazine and to do bigger and better things with their lives.
