"We keep talking as if it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter that Obama gets 92 percent of the black vote, because since he only got 35 percent of the white vote, he's in trouble," Clyburn said. "Well, Hillary Clinton only got 8 percent of the black vote. . . . It's almost saying black people don't matter. The only thing that matters is how white people respond. And that's what bothered me. I think I matter."
While Clyburn matters, what really is supposed to matter is who can win in November, and the reality is more white people vote...So if Obama can not become more appealing to those who are currently selecting Clinton, it helps McCain...
I also find the whole context of race being an issue when sexism has been just as large of a "tool" used as a negative against Clinton ironic...It's like saying women don't matter if we were to use Clyburn's logic.

The American Press and its capitalistic ventures in the mass media for making profit sensationalizes the candidates and trivializes the issues. I fault the traditional mass media for perpetuating and encouraging a large portion of racist, sexist, and other prejudicial viewpoints.
