So...when is Merrill McPeak going to step down

He compared Bill Clinton to McCarthy...and if all things are going to be fair, those that make silly statements or promote videos are supposed to resign.

Merrill McPeak is a co-chairman of Obama's presidential campaign and he compares the comment by the former president to communist-hunting Senator Joe McCarthy of the 1950s.

Campaigning for his wife in North Carolina, Clinton said it would be a great thing if we had an election year where, "you had two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interest of this country." Instead, he said, there's "all this other stuff."

McPeak says he lived through the years when McCarthy "was accusing good Americans of being traitors" and says he's "had enough of it."

Hillary Clinton's campaign spokesman Phil Singer rejects the comparison as "absurd." He says McPeak has misinterpreted the former president's statement.

Message to Bill Richardson, your endorsement doesn't really mean anything, Hispanics are not going to support Obama based on your endorsement and most of those that did support you already decided who they were going to support by now. You doing this comes off as a desperate attempt to get attention, if you really did support Obama you should have endorsed him right after you dropped out.

As an Air Force officer in the Pacific 20 years ago, I had the opportunity to brief General McPeak on more than one occasion.

In case you're interested, I wrote about those experiences -- and about my interaction with the general -- in this post, >Retired General Succumbs to 'Obamamania'.

I think you'll find it enlightening and worth sharing as it helps one understand why, mistakenly, the general supports Obama.

Oh, but the brush only goes one way; the gamemanship rules do not seem to apply yo the B.O. camp.
On the other comment, me thinks Richardson is trying to jockey himself into a possible VP nomination on a B.O. ticket.

The word "yo" above should actually read as "to."
