If Obama can't convince those like me...

When I read the first paragraph of the Washington Post, GOP Doubts, Fears 'Post-Partisan' Obama I was already disgusted by the headline, and I wondered how much more obvious the pandering of "OMG the Republicans fear Obama! He must be THE ONE" could be. Then...
Exploiting a deep well of voter revulsion over partisan gridlock in Washington, Sen. Barack Obama is promising to do something that has not been done in modern U.S. politics: unite a coalition of Democrats, Republicans and independents behind an agenda of sweeping change.

The reality is Obama does not convince me that he's sincere and that he is any different than any of the many others before that sang a good song and did a good dance but when the party was over? Turned out to be a frog rather than a prince.

A friend last night was raving over how awesome Obama was in his most recent speech, I asked him..."Did he write the speech?", "Of course not," he replied, "he's too busy campaigning to have the time to write his own speeches". Exactly my point...a package can be the prettiest package in the world, dressed up with ribbons and bows and sparkles, but in the end? It's what inside that matters...
