Former NFL players get raw deal...

Highly recommended story at Cleveland Scene entitled, Forgotten Forefathers that covers what has happened to some of the former NFL players who have been injured and have not received the type of help you'd think they would get from a multi-million dollar sport like football.

That's what's so sickening about prima donnas like Eli Manning who pout and whine and refuse to sign with the team that drafts them. Thirty years ago NFL players made less than $20,000 a year on average, but those were the REAL football players. They weren't in it for the money, they were in it because "IT" was in them! Even the article you linked to states that most NFL players held lucrative jobs in the off season. Not today's players, they lounge around their fancy swimming pools while they're being waited on hand and foot while the men that carved the way for them make less in one month than today's players do in a matter of minutes. I love football, but stories like this make me sick!
