The fear factor and Obama...

I've been very honest in my not being thrilled with Barack Obama as a presidential candidate for a variety of reasons, including his lack of honesty. That said, some of the tactics being used against him when it comes to the attempt to create some type of fear factor related to his muslim heritage is beyond ridiculous.

Yet to pretend it's not going to be a campaign issue is not realistic. It's going to be used, over and over and over again because this works. All we have to do is remember what happened to John Kerry and many other candidates along the way who have been the subject of intense negative advertising designed to scare you into not voting for that person. The presidential candidates won't do the dirty work directly themselves, they'll let the side groups do the nasty stuff and then claim to be above it since by law they can't have any connection to ads run by these organizations.

The most recent "fear factor attempt" is blogged about by Genia on Sisters Talk, I recommend heading over and giving what she has to say a read.

I agree, the tactics are deplorable, but I still strongly support John Edwards. I believe he is the best candidate.
