Math does not add up in hate crime reporting...

Last week I posted an article from the Washington Post that stated, ,more than 9,000 offenses were committed because of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or physical or mental disability last year, an 8 percent increase over the year before.


Yet, CNN is reporting Police across the nation reported 7,722 criminal incidents in 2006 targeting victims.

So who's right? It appears that the CNN reporting is accurate, or is at least reported in many other places and the Washington Post got it wrong...
