I should be in bed, I realize this, however those of you who know me know that I can't sit still in bed for any extended period of time without going crazy and I've watched every movie I can possibly watch. So, while on the topic of percocet, I've always wondered why spammers try to hawk prescription drugs like that, since I'd say I get at least 100 spam a day on Glass City that is related to drugs and the other hundreds split between sex and other spam.
Out of curiosity I've visited a few of the websites that sell these drugs and if they actually did send you the medication (which is unlikely) It would cost several hundred dollars for an amount of pills that legally costs as a generic $4.60. It would be an extremely expensive habit to do via the internet.
I've never seen a valid reason for spam except for those trying to do extreme black hat seo by building search engine placement numbers from the sheer amount of spam left and even that's debatable as result since the majority of time these comments end up in a moderation que which does nothing for them at all except waste the time of the blogger in having to delete them...

Bob believes all activities are better with Percocet.
The people I knew in the Army who favored prescription drugs favored Valium and Vicodin. Apparently you can get a fake prescription for a case of the stuff when you go to Mexico. And I though they went to Juarez for the women
Alas we live too far from the border to discover if that is true.
:-)
Bob I thought all activities were better with vodka? Or is that the substitute when percocet is not available?
Lisa,
I hope you are doing as well as you can. As always, your are in my thoughts and prayers.
As for spammers... I've never understood that either. I assume that somebody pays them a few pennies per spam, or something to that affect. Otherwise, why...
Thanks Stephanie, it's nice to know that even when I look like a chipmunk that you still are my friend.
:-)
I'll be okay, minor surgery for one problem then followed by a very bad abscessed tooth that wasn't responding to treatment. The swelling is finally going down so I might actually go out in public in the next few days without looking like Miguel slugged me.
Hey, I would be your friend even if you became a chipmunk! I do hope you're feeling better.
Lisa,
As per the spam thing, have you seen this article? It puts spam into a whole new light:
"Some estimates peg the number of email spams sent each day at around 55 billion, the vast majority of which are sent by infected PCs, usually without any knowledge of it by their owner."
Whether it applies to blog spam or not I do not know.
Why just visiting a SPAMMER'S site is enough to infect your P.C.
And, did you ever notice the exact same SPAM several times each day, right on down to the text .gif price list?
