First reaction to the President's Budget...

As I was reading the list of the Winners and Losers, my first immediate thought was how could a 3% raise be justified across the board? Right now at this point in time is this something we can afford? While I understand the need for some of the hiring, especially when it comes to the border patrol, I also have to wonder do we really need to expand the federal government to be even larger?

You have it all wrong. President Bush is a conservative that does not believe in expanding the government or increasing spending. He is just remembering 9/11 and defending us from evildoers.

That explains the increase in the Patent Department....damn how could I have missed that....

President Bush and the GOP have completely left their supporters in the weeds. Bush 43 has grown the government larger than any other President in history. That coupled with a flawed plan to win the peace in Iraq added up to the drumming taken by the party in November. I'm a GOPer ready to write in Biden in '08 :-)

I'd rather have Biden than a few of them on both sides of the aisle.
