This one made me almost laugh hysterically:
The truly Clintonian figure running for the Democratic nomination is Barack Obama. The senator from Illinois, it's struck me lately, seems in many ways more like Bill Clinton than does the senator from New York.
Well duh...Hillary Clinton has never claimed to be Bill Clinton nor has she ever tried to act like Bill Clinton. Frankly I don't believe Obama is the next "Bill" either and even if he was? It matters how? Even if you believe Bill Clinton was the best president ever, our country is facing different issues now and we need new answers, not some continual parade of similar candidates.
It's going to be a very long political season if this is the kind of focus we are going to see by the media...

I think that Chelsea will be the next Bill Clinton.
I would like a president to be like Bill Clinton but not a person or husband. Although the issues are different today, Clinton was an intellectual that could think through complex issues. That is not a trait unique to Clinton, but he is the most recent version of an intellectual president. I think President Bush has proven that we don't need an MBA president less interested in details than ideas.
So if this is true and Obama gets elected, does that mean more BJs in the White House?
By the way, Bush is no great thinker, but what did Clinton do in the eight years he was in office? In fact, what does any president do in office besides be a figurehead while the Congress tries to make progress?
That's an interesting way of phrasing it C, and it is true in a way since one of the main jobs of the President is either signing or vetoing bills.
A President can encourage congress to act, and Clinton did do that with quite a few major bills/programs.
Now that the Hollywood elites are getting behind Obama, Hilary's ship appears to be setting low in the water and sinking.
Funny how the political winds shift so quickly. . .
