I suppose I should like Giuliani...but I don't

I realize that it's written he "favors abortion rights, gun control and immigrant rights" but there is just something about him that sets off the "Lisa hypocrisy warning bells". Ironically it's believed as stated in the Washington Post that he is too much of a social liberal to get the Republican nod. Yet, I also believe that McCain's time has long passed, there has to be some new candidates out there that at least stand half a chance of being under 60 and somewhat inspiring to at least make us feel as if we have a choice.

Seriously, if the Republicans don't put up someone that at least appears to have a chance to win it doesn't challenge the Democrats to do their best. So even if you are a hard core Democrat who would never even consider looking at a Republican, the primary process works best when there is an actual exchange and a choice rather than whoever the party powers that be decide will be the annointed one.

Look where that's gotten us the past few elections...

I am going to run as a Republican and a Democrat. Hopefully I will win both promaries and will run against myself in the general

Now that is one hell of an idea!

I also don't think the debates I have with myself will be boring. I have spent decades arguing with myself

I agree there should be choice. There should be choice that extends beyond the favorites of the Democrat or Republican parties. These choices should not have to involve being "loaded" with political capital and actual capital. However, that is sadly not the world we live in right now. At least, it's not the country we live in right now. Perhaps we can change that so we have actual, genuine choice next election cycle. Perhaps.

As for Giuliani...he's very charasmatic. He went through a very literal hell, and survived not only physically, but politically and psychologically as well. That's something worthy of respect. Whether he's hypocritical? He is a career politician...that's pretty much guaranteed.

Me4,

How are you going to pull off the conservative bent? Not even Hillary is trying that.

One thing I Learned was that you should be able to argue both sides in order to give you an advantage in a debate. I like "The Conscience of a Conservative" and think I could do pretty well in a debate as a true conservative. I am not as good at the neocon argument, but it is really just brash liberalism
