New home equals need for landscaping ideas....

Most of you know we moved into a house this year but I have not had the time nor the budget yet to be able to do a lot of landscaping. I had looked at many magazines and a few websites to get landscaping ideas but most of them seemed either very costly or would not work for our yard space. Looking at pictures like this one I saw the potential for something similar in our yard. I could picture this in our one back corner of the yard. Or perhaps go for a rock garden in that back corner such as this one. Yes, I love rock gardens, it's very hard to kill rocks...

Landscaping Ideas Online also has a message board forum where you can to go ask advice or just to chat about your favorite landscaping project. For those of you who already feel you have a picture perfect yard, there is even a contest where you can win cash for submitting your photos of your landscaping.

I was never much of one for landscaping (and the outside of my house is a good testament to that), but my mom was good at it. From watching her I know the best, cheap way to get a good rock garden is to go to a lake, get driftwood and rocks from the lake and take them home in your trunk. Of course, it helps if you live out in the country in Minnesota where there's an abundance of lakes, driftwood and rocks and nobody wants them but you.

I could use some landscaping ideas. What do you do with a back yard that one of your dogs has made look like a war zone by digging holes everywhere. It looks like we have been attacked with mortars.
