I just finished up helping/checking her homework with her and she had to write 20 sentences. I'm not going to write all of them but a few of them:
The natural disaster was just a bad storm.
You can't have child labor.
I must obtain good grades.
We must detain the army!
I admit it, I stole the pen!
Can you complete this survey?
My mom says I complain too much.
And noo I did not help her with any of the sentences - I was just checking spelling and penmanship.

Was there a sentence on there about drinking bad beer being a mortal sin?
Well there was one about people who don't like Corona....
:-)
Was it that they are obviously extremely intelligent? And probably very attractive?
;-)
Why of course that was it.
:-)
Aubrey is smart, but I would say she is cute, not attractive. Any girl under the age 15 I would is cute. 15 to 18 I would say attractive from afar.
The "We must detain the army" sentence scares me coming from an eleven year old. I would be a little uncomfy with "We must detain the suspect", but the army sentence does scare me. Lisa, just make should she doesn't hate the army. The soldiers shouldn't be blamed in messes beyond their control.
She's close to Corey's best friend who has been in Iraq a few times so I don't think she hates the military - just wants the war to end so Walter doesn't go back there.
:-)
I had to make her stop watching the national news when Walter was over in Iraq - every time she heard a solider was killed she'd ask if I had heard if Walter was okay.
I stopped watching the news for the same reason. I have had friends from when I was in the Army serve in calm places like Fallujah and Sadr City. Everytime they said someone died, I had to wait for the DoD to update their website to make sure it wasn't one of them. I am not sure what I would do if something had happened to one of them and I didn't go over with them.
That being said, I say we need to detain the civilian military leaders and the Joint Chiefs. The military has done its job and done it well, even though the planning has been poor.
Lisa,
What? She can't type her homework on the computer and email it to her teacher?
How unbelievably backwards and archaic ;-)
How is Aubrey ever going to develop her blogging skills if she is forced to hand-write her homework?
Besides avoiding the penmanship issue altogether, she would have that spell-check thing working for her if she could do her homework electronically too ;-)
Her teacher takes it even a step farther...he has them write their sentences in ink and if they make a mistake in spelling or penmanship they have to start over. Till they get it copy perfect.
:-)
