House pictures!

Emily, my oldest daughter took some pictures of the house before we finished the floor. So since I've talked about the living room and dining room colors as well as my sponging/paint wash I did on the one wall in the dining room....Here is an idea of what it looks like at that point in time in the process.

I like the window area. Looks like a good place for a papasan chair and a good book. Or to watch thunderstorms

I totally agree, those are the living room windows. We also have this huge deck off the back of the house and a really nice front porch.

:-)

Thankfully they left the original built in china curio in the corner of the dining room. Emily didn't take any pictures of it but I will - I'm hoping to be able to refinish it.

When are you guys moving in, Lisa?

Hopefully next weekend - we're having issues with Columbia Gas and the contracter that was hired to put in the new gas line and a few other small things that need to be finished up.

I'm not moving in until I have hot water and a working stove.

Good luck with the move and the gas. We just moved into our first house... we love it, but we already have some electrical issues (which we knew about) and a water main-not-being-up-to-code-for-the-
inspector-that-will-check-the-electrical-
work-and-who-will-likely-make-us-fix-it
issues... And since we're not swiming in money after closing...I think Cat Daddy and Dr. Squeeky may be visiting a local subway station with a guitar and a bucket to gather funds...

I can relate to that Cat Daddy, there are lots of things I'd like to do but some will have to wait.

Thanks Cindy, it looks alot better now that the floors have been refinished. And I solved my paint crisis of the orangy sherbert mess by taking the desert sand color that Erin wanted for the basement that I had an extra gallon of and mixed it. Ended up with the perfect color that was pretty darn close to what I was looking for without having to buy new paint.

And...we heard back from the contracter with the proof that Columbia Gas wanted. So I might actually have hot water and a working stove by Tuesday.

Your work is paying off big time.

The house looks gorgeous.

Soon all that will be left to do is make it a home.

It looks even better now, I just have to take more pictures. I finally remembered to buy batteries so tomorrow I'll take some pictures of how it looks now that the floor is done. One of the neighbors came over tonight and it was the first time he'd seen the inside of the house since we started working on it. He said it didn't even look like the same house.
