Me4President's apprentice contest

So far looks like it's Gary versus me.

The first assigned topic was The Real Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.

Franklin Covey is the author of what appears to be a never ending series of books based on his The Real Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. Yet, I have a deep dark confession, I have never read nor plan to read any of his books. My approach to the self-help book is Carlinesqe, they can't be self help books if someone else wrote them! I have lived thru the One minute series of books where in one minute it would change your life. Next the Chicken Soup for the Soul series appeared even with one for pets, who knew with the exception of Me4's dog that pets could read?

Not having read any of those books I can however make a good guess at what several of these seven habits would be or should be.

1. Don't waste your time on self-help books.

2. Like yourself, learn how to be your own best friend.

3. Communication is the key to being effective, written or spoken, do your best.

4. Prioritize your life, set realistic goals.

5. Don't lose sight of the really important things in life, like family and friends.

6. Learn to agree to disagree, it's more effective than arguing every point.

and number 7 the most important of all?

7. Lisa is a hypocrite and can give you awesome advice but she won't always follow it.

So, may you all find your own path which in the end is what most of us do. We see the mistakes of others but most times? We learn from our own. So unless you have a burning desire to help make Franklin Covey rich? Take seven important steps backward from his books.

If your path is strewn with "road apples," you may just be following a centaur...
