A tale of two extremes....

Today's Washington Post has an article about the Whitehouse naming is first female chef.

Today's New York Times has an article on immigrant women and how they are struggling to find work.

What both stories have in common is women who have not given up. While the goal for some of those written about in the New York Times piece is to just get a job for the day to make enough money for food and possibly to send to their children; the goal of those who urged the First Lady to select a woman for the chef position was to acknowledge how many women are involved in food service.

Yes, that's the way I read it to, that she was also an immigrant.

If she is an immigrant, wouldn't it be ironic (Hell, funny) if she was here illegally and that she was being paid under the books? Well, the Bushes are from Texas.

After commentting on the Iraq situation, I needed to post something a little inane to feel better.

Wow, and I do feel better. This is better than paying a shrink a couple of hundred for 50 minutes, I'm sorry, an hour, worth of work.

Ok, goof time is over.

Comerford, a 42-year-old naturalized citizen originally from the Philippines, will also be the first representative of a minority group to hold the post of executive chef.

(and if she was illegal? Clinton's hired her she's been there ten years)

:-)

Does this mean I should start charging? hehehe
