You have got to be kidding me......
Thanks to Brew I was reading over at SCOTUS. Then what should appear before my eyes? A list of who is considered possible to replace Justice Day O'Connor.
Robert Novak reported that Judge Edith Clement had been interviewed. Other female candidates that will receive serious consideration are certainly Janice Rogers Brown, Priscilla Owen, and Edith Jones.
Yes, you read that right, Janice Rogers Brown and Priscilla Owen....
Are they NUTS? Wait...don't answer that.
I have not done my research on the other candidates suggested so I can't comment on them at this point, I will later, however this one floored me. I am very very glad that Justice Day O'Connor made the decision to make her retirment upon the confirmation of her successor as this could take a while. A long while.

Hopefully it lasts until February 2007. That would at least give us a chance to get more liberals in office
Lisa,
As I understand the process, the President's job is to nominate/appoint a replacement and the Congress approves the nominee/candidate if found to be qualified.
Idealogy, or political leanings of the candidate matter not, and should NOT enter into determining who is "qualified."
Or, did I miss something?
:-)
