Recommended source for Contemporary African Art
If you are an admirer of art, especially African Paintings, I highly recommend visiting African Encounters. Normally my tastes do not lean to contemporary art but I have to say after viewing some of the art work there, I am very impressed. In particular some of the paintings by Wiz Kudowor, especially a piece entitled, "Thinkers II", immediately caught my attention. A nice feature of the website is "virtual hanging", it gives you an idea of how a painting would look on your wall with the correct scale and in relation to the color of your walls. African Encounters also offers a selection of limited edition prints from some of the fine artists they feature, including the piece below by Ben Agbee, which can be clicked on for a larger view.

I can imagine this clock in my living room now...
When I was looking at Grandfather Clocks at 1-800-4clocks, I spotted one particular grandfather clock that I fell in love with, it's from the Ridgeway Ivey Grandfather collection, I have never seen a clock like this aged iron one, it should be considered art work. The design in the picture made me really want to see what it looked like in person, and I knew immediately exactly where this Ridgeway Clock could go in my living room. I admit I had no idea how many different styles of grandfather clocks there are out there and the huge variation of wall clocks and mantel clocks gave me some surfing enjoyment as I looked at some of those clocks that I could picture in other parts of my house. So it might be "time" for you to head over to their website...
As a ps...There is even a blog post featuring my dream grandfather clock.

PaintYourLife Custom Paintings...
I had the chance to recently see two custom paintings that were done for friends of mine by PaintYourLife, so I can attest that these really appear to be photos on canvas. The quality of the art work is truly amazing. I highly recommend visiting the website, reading the testimonials and taking a few moments to watch the video below. I'm hoping I have dropped enough hints after oohing and ahhing over what I've seen as the results that a photo of my five children can be turned into a Custom Painting...

These driftwood sculptures are amazing...
I was reading this blog post that Louise shared on driftwood horse sculptures. The way she described the art work and the details involved alone is worth reading, and then I recommend visiting the website she is featuring. The photographs of the work are truly amazing in their use of driftwood, some of the horses are life sized. It made me wish I had an area I could display such a piece of work...
