The White House said it supports Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Saniora's efforts to deal with fighting, and the State Department defended the Lebanese army, saying it was working in a "legitimate manner" against "provocations by violent extremists" operating in the camp.
Somehow it's hard to see bombing the hell out of a refugee camp even if there could be suspected terrorists inside as "legitimate". Especially since there are innocent civilians living inside.
Yes, I know the whole argument of terrorists use the civilians as a shield and the whole the civilians should do more to stop the terrorists from being there.
However, I'd suggest that's really easy for people to say who are not living in these refugee camps...

Unfortunately, when innocent civilians become shields for combatants, they, through no fault of their own, also become likely targets.
Unfair? Sure.
Understandable? Sure.
Fair? It's war; nothing about war is fair...
