Violence causes cancellation of demonstration

Media reports are coming out that the counter-protestors started throwing rocks at not only cars but police officers.

From Channel 24:

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Police used tear gas to break up a rock-throwing crowd that had gathered to protest a planned march Saturday by the National Socialist Movement.

At least two dozen members of a Roanoke, Va.-based group that calls itself "America's Nazi Party" had gathered at Wilson Park just before noon and were to march under police protection.

Violence erupted about one-quarter of a mile away along the planned route on Mulberry near Central. Baseball-sized rocks lay in the street as the gas dissipated.

An NBC24 crew on scene reported that numerous vehicles, including several media vehicles, were vandalized by protesters. Simon Shaykhet said the situation was "crazy" as protesters gathering in the area of Central and Stickney. Police continued to use tear gas to break-up the crowd.

Authorities announced through a loudspeaker on a police helicopter that they were canceling the march and telling people to leave the area.

So it would appear those who felt it necessary to counter-protest were the ones who caused the problems rather than the NSM. No confirmation on injuries, but there was alot of damage to vehicles. Never ceases to amaze how stupid people can be.

Well Toledo is making Fox News Network.

Headline reads "Violent Protests at Nazi Rally"

oh sheesh Bob McCloskey is on the show.

He said he saw 6 or 7 kids dressed in black but they weren't doing anything wrong. Just rock throwing, minor stuff. No looting according to him. (Fox is showing video of what they are calling looting and it looks like they are either destroying a building or looting but can't tell what building it is). There are no police that I can see on the scene.

Looks like at least 50 or more people destroying stuff.

Well they are throwing stuff out of the windows, still no police.

Looks like a townhouse.

Crowd looks even larger now, off to the side there is more than a hundred.

Standing in the streets and on the corner - Bob is supposedly driving around looking for them which is probably not a smart idea given the huge number of people and no police in the area.

Two blocks away they are showing the police standing around and the crowd is still destroying the house and Bob is still driving around looking for them. Not sure if the police even know what is happening or if they aren't going in for some reason.

Crowd is growing even larger now, still no police.

Looks like they are trying to catch the house on fire because there is smoke coming out of the windows. Still no police or fire crews.

Unknown said...

Yep, it's really on fire, not only smoke now but major flames.

Unknown said...

Police finally showing up and the crowd has left, the house is really burning now.

Huge numbers of police now walking down the street. However? The huge crowd who was watching the damage/fire and causing the destruction? Gone.

Boy oh boy, thank you Fox News for keeping me abreast! Dang, where is that VCR?

Nice digs, Lisa... (;~

Since when has Toledo been a "racial tinderbox"? This is news to me!

Unknown said...

Wow, according to Fox news Toledo has been a tinderbox of racial issues for years.

Firetrucks finally came.

Unknown said...

Mulberry is where the fire is, you can still see large numbers of what looks like some of the group that was watch/involved with the fire a few streets over.

Unknown said...

Thanks Brian, I didn't know that either, till "Julie" just informed us of the whole racial tinderbox thing.

What a bunch of idiots. Not only does it make the City look bad but the demonstration was cancelled so there was no reason to start destroying things let alone catch a building on fire.

Fox says it might be a bar that they destroyed, looked like a townhouse from the air but could be a bar.

Sigh..I just don't get how this solves anything.

And on the Vanguard Board? This type of comment is being posted

ARM YOURSELVES TO THE TEETH,MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!!!

If you think the whole thing's going to blow over after today, that everything will be back to normal, that no more (I delted word) devil gangs are going to attack or rob - you got another thing coming. They will take advantage of this and assault, rob, rape and murder, even worse than ever.Especially the Whites in those neighborhoods.Go to any gun store NOW!!!!

Wow now that's responsible, and people wonder why things get out of hand?

Brian Maxson said...

Lisa? Let me assure you, these thugs can't log on to read those messages.

They've planned on doing this, and will continue to terrorize the neighborhood because they know they have power.

Again, I have to say, they were warned.

Unknown said...

Brian, yeah I know that but they are claiming it's spreading into Michigan as well. Not sure if that's true or if they are just doing their typical inciting.

I wanted to post that comment though because that shows what they are doing to try to create more panic.

So, Lis, what kind of gun are you going to get?

Brian Maxson said...

It's too bad that Fox dropped the call, it would have made for great TV to hear thugs screaming and breaking glass before the signal dropped.

:X

Good thing I didn't go down there after all.

Brian be nice, not even Bob Mc deserves that. Though I wonder where he is. Still waiting to hear from Mike too - he's down there.

I sowwy. I be good.

I was just on Mike's site, and he's posted and has a picture.

Man, what a scene.

Unknown said...

Okay....Mike is okay and is starting to blog about it.

Here

lmao, Val posted it on Toledo Talk - and we are both posting the same thought at the same time.

There is supposed to be a press conference at 4 by the police.

Unknown said...

Ford's on 11 right now

He's saying they were trying to talk to the crowds until the fire started. I didn't see any of that on Fox so don't know if that was out of the camera view because there were no police cars near there.

He's saying they were Gangs, but there were also women and children in the crowds. Now Jack is saying there was a past build up of tension (so he confirmed the racial tinderbox thing).

There's the basic gist of it Brian since I know you can't get 11 from Florida.

Unknown said...

Eleven is showing the video of the crowds throwing rocks at the police. Now the tear gas.

Looks like exactly what Mike said, that is what got them starting to destroy things.

Wow this guy just tried to attack one of the horses a police officer was on. A woman trying to get the tear gas out of her eyes with a garden hose. More tear gas being thrown.

(This is all video form before not what is happening now)

Unknown said...

Here we go, it's not their fault that they destroyed property or did anything. Because they are poor and downtrodden and can't even play basketball that they are being seen as gangs when they are just innocent kids who have nothing to do. That they have a reason to be mad.

Have no idea who is staying this, but it's on Eleven. She's saying we treat them the same way we did the Nazis.

Sorry but people need to be responsible for their own actions no matter what.

I'm not surprised.

Just look at what passes for families, family values, education and parental involvement these days.

Our society is crumbling, and only we can fix it.
