Supposedly it was a "very poor hoax" yet it was believable enough to call the bomb squad, evacuate the nearby Court of Appeals (which closed for the rest of the day as some type of precaution) and keep people back over 300 feet for almost two hours.
A bus broke down and called for a replacement, when the replacement arrived three devices with wires coming from them were found on the bus.
TARTA has video tape so Police will be going thru the tapes to see if they can determine who placed the fake devices on the bus.
Bright side? If you were a Court of Appeals employee you got the afternoon off, and the Bomb Squad got to make a practice run. It was a slow news day so it got alot of coverage from the local media.

Leave it to you Lisa to find some humor in this. Is why I so luv you. 'Tis a pity 'tho the cost to taxpayers but wonderful it was a hoax. I hope they catch whomever is responsible ... so they can have an excellent defense ( then again, the Patriot Act ... hmmmm )and more tax $ .. however, the alternative ( not a dud ) can't be measured in commodities/value. I only hope this type thing doesn't become the norm. Will not bode well for any of us. A day off & practice run. LoL, Lisa. I so miss thee. Smiles & Hugs.

Today would have been the day for Toledo's councilwoman and head of ethics committee to have parked illegaly there and come out and there would be no bus and no car, just two burning husks of metal. Of course, all the people would have been cleared and no one would be harmed. If people were harmed, then the humor would be gone and my joke would not be working right now.
The twist of car fate has already happened to our infamous council person. Two nights after the parking incident her husband was involved in a car accident (he wasn't at fault nor was he injured) but the car got pretty messed up and unfortunately someone died.
She then proceeded to ask for a moment of silence for the one person who died in the car accident which one Council person spoke up and said he thought it was inappropriate and grandstanding because city council doesn't make it a habit to memorialize car accident deaths.

She's running for re-election and the one democratic group endorsed her. They are expecting we have short memories.
