I like my tower better than my laptop but...

I know many people prefer a laptop, I'm one of those who doesn't. Though my laptop is great for when I go to work since I can take it with me and it would be pretty hard to carry my tower around and it's fantastic when it comes to live blogging, I prefer the touch of a traditional keyboard and I like my 22 inch monitor. I'm even picky about my keyboards, not to mention that I type so much that I wear off the markings on the keyboard, which for me is not a problems since I used to be an administrative assistant. I actually try them out when I have to replace one because the touch matters to me. Which I guess if you type as much as I do, is understandable, or I'm just picky (smile). Wearing the letters off however does cause issues for family members who are not expert typists (which isn't all a bad thing since it keeps them off of my computer).

This particular laptop I am using now was given to me by my oldest daughter since she upgraded to a newer laptop after she saw some really good laptop deals out there and she wanted one that was more designed for game playing, since she's into that. Laptops are also great for traveling, like when I went to California to visit her, I could still keep up to date on my work and blogging during the day while she was at work.

The thought of you carrying around your tower makes me laugh.

If you saw what a monster it was, along with the monitor? You'd really laugh harder.

get a new laptop, get a monitor, get a keyboard... when at home, use it as a desktop

forgot the email back link
it should be automatic

Barga, then I'd have to disconnect everything when I wanted to use it as a laptop and if something went wrong with my tower I'd have no back up.

I did look at one that was that way that came with a monitor, keyboard, etc.

I don't think you followed what I meant
Buy a laptop
Buy a monitor
Buy a keyboard....

You have a laptop that can act as a desktop with go issue... Literally the two cords plug in onthe side of the laptop, not hard to set up or take down

As for backup, either an external HDD or online

I have an external harddrive, I purchased it last year after I had to have my tower replaced while it was under warranty.

Now I am confused
So you have both? I prefer desktop too, simply cause it is easy to get inside

You two are confusing me. :-)

lmao - Barga read the title, "I like my tower better than my laptop"

I have a tower and a laptop. I like the tower better but I realize how useful a laptop can be.

So Lisa, you like your 22" monitor better. Are you saying that you are a size queen? ;)

Lisa Renee said...

Yes, C when it comes to some things size does matter.

it is a great mental image....

You can get a laptop station - if I ever have money I'm going to get one. You plug it into the station and then use a regular monitor and keyboard. So you have the benefit of the regular keyboard and the monitors are pretty affordable now.

You do want to make sure you get a monitor with enough air movement so that it doesn't burn out quickly. Alot of the cheaper ones don't circulate air well and that's why they only last about a year.

My hubby has let me use his laptop a couple times. I prefer my desktop.
