Unless you are a vegetarian or vegan? Shut up...

The Palin bashing continues with one of the stupidest things I've ever seen people get upset about. Newsflash people...At Thanksgiving? That turkey that you eat? Was killed by somebody...So all of those people upset that the media decided to film some of the turkey's being killed while Palin pardoned one that have ever eaten or plan to eat a turkey or any meat for that matter, should just shut up.

This "dramatic" story was even covered on Entertainment Tonight...

If this disturbs you that badly? Reconsider eating turkey, start here or want something totally homemade? Go here. I've actually made this one, it's worth the work...

We're so far removed from where our food comes from, people get upset when they realize that a the turkey that is on the table was once a living being.

Indeed!!!

What's most absurd is that Gov. Palin was visiting one of those "happy meat" farms - those places that people cite to me when I challenge factory farming for its inherent cruelty. This does, however, prove a good point: Don't believe everything you have heard about these idealic, fictionalized farms we force ourselves to believe actually exist.

I didn't get upset. I just thought it a bit ironic. I also viewed it as an opportunity to exploit the silliness of that type of usually well-staged event of a media opportunity that politicos use to their own advantage whenever it goes the way "they" want it.
So, now, I'll just put that drumstick in my mouth and shut up as you have suggested.

Roland you wrote your post the day after I wrote this one, this was written on November 21st, yours was on November 22nd. So, you were not one of the posts or media reporting that I came across that inspired my being so tired of people bashing Palin for something that a) was silly given the fact that turkey's are killed exactly as was seen on video and b) she did not control the camera view. It's not like she invited people out to watch turkey's being killed.

Some of the same people who bashed Palin had no problem sharing and pointing out a graphic video on wolves being killed, which was used as a campaign ad. A bit hypocritical if violence was the "key" issue.

Personally I think the whole pardoning of a turkey is stupid since the reality is, the governor or president or mayor or whoever is just going to eat another turkey anyway and how do we really know that turkey was truly pardoned? It's a silly media stunt and if people were truly upset or offended in witnessing how that turkey ends up on their plate? Then they should rethink eating meat.
