Bad thing about old basements...

One of the downsides to living in a home with an older basement is when you have to shut the windows that damp musty smell that lurks. We have a small dehumidifier that we use but to be honest, if it were my house, I'd rather have one of the whole basement type such as one of the Santa Fe dehumidifiers that while are a bit more pricey than the one we have, do a better job in eliminating the water from the air. We had one of the crawl space ones in one of the homes we lived in before, and it did an excellent job in keeping that area dry.

For some reason it doesn't bother my husband the way it bothers me, so I guess it's a good thing that my "office blogging space" is upstairs and his is in the basement...
