Proof our country is in trouble...

I'm sick...watching mindless television and "Who wants to be a millionaire" is on tv. The question? Which one of these men is a Republican in the 2008 Presidential election:

The answers: Joe Biden, Mitt Romney, Dennis Kucinich or Bill Richardson...

She DID NOT KNOW! She had to ask the audience and only 72% of the audience knew the right answer. My 13 year old could have answered that one...

Sigh...

I'm not surprised. Most people in this country have a very apathic look at politics in this country. And who can blame them? There hasn't been a great president in the last fifty years (hey, JFK was no saint and he had his mess ups as president before he was killed). Most of the last eight presidents have either lied, caused great scandel, made us not believe in our leaders, or all of the above.

Yes, this country needs a great leader to change the course of this country's future, but every election since I have been able to vote I have been given a choice of ick or yuck; and this next election will be no different.

I have no faith in any candidate that is running for my vote this Nov. All the Democrats want a candiate to "shake things up" with either a first black candidate or a first woman candidate; neither of whom will beat a Republican, ever after the last eight snafu years that Bush has done. As for the Republicans, this batch of candidates are nothing to write home about either.

Should I vote, and this year looks pretty bleak for that to happen, I most likely will vote Republican again since I am oppose to both Hillary and Obama. Should Edwards win somehow, I will research his background and ideals, since I have no idea what he stands for. Sorry, I have to work to help my family survive and have no time to listen to the same crap from each person who throws his or her hat in the ring.

Back to H and O. It is sad to see that most people will vote for either one of them because she a woman or he is black. Yeah? A bad apple is still bad no matter what the packaqge looks like. When most of the people stop being lead by gimmacks and flavors of the month, then a great leader will be voted in and will make this country great again; no matter if it is a he, a she, black, white, red, yellow, or brown.

I'm not going to harass you about it, we go to far back for that but on the Republican side the candidates are not anymore thrilling. So, you could also have an interesting choice.

Even though you aren't into politics as much as I am I would be willing to bet you would have been able to answer the question.

:-)

I agree that the Republicans are offering people that are as interesting as pond alge.

What I'm looking for is a candidate who will speak his/her mind and not talk in f---ing sounds bites. I know that I should also wish for purple piggies flying and farting gold. Neither is gonig to happen.

Anyway, yes I could have answered that question, but who cares. None of those clowns will win.

BTW, hope you feel better Lisa. Soup is good for all ills. That is what grandma told me. :)

We had a fellow on the radio on Mondays who would call a Stop and Go store or 7-11 store in each of the cities which had a team slated for the Monday Night Football game. He would ask the clerk at the store several easy questions, then ask the same questions to the other clerk; the one with the most correct answers determined which team would win that night's football game.

Most of the time it left me ill wondering what kind of mush brained citizens we have.

Nice short post.

C I'm almost sick of soup though I have to say I hate those electrolyte drinks more (lol).

T.F. I'm beginning to realize that we have quite a few people who would not pass the "are you smarter than a 2nd grader" test.
