Yeah! No hate crimes reported in Mississippi!

Ironically the title of this post is true, unfortunately it's not because hate crimes have been wiped off the face of the United States in our Southern States, it's because they don't report them...

Hate Crime Reporting Uneven.

Heidi Beirich, director of research and special projects for the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Ala., which studies hate groups, said many states are dismissive of hate crimes.

"I would say Southern states are the absolute worst," Beirich said. "You have states like California and New Jersey that report hundreds of hate crimes -- because they do a good job."

However the lack of reporting really calls into question the validity of the overall statistics on hate crimes.
