Tagged...like some poor trapped creature...

Okay, not really like some poor trapped creature but both Stephanie and Hooda tagged me as a result of Mike tagging them.

Since I never do anything normal...I'm going to play but with a twist at the end...

1. Let others know who tagged you.
2. Players start with 8 random facts about themselves.
3. Those who are tagged should post these rules and their 8 random facts.
4. Players should tag 8 other people and notify them they have been tagged.

1. While PayPerPost doesn't seem to ever send any blog love my way, I just moved up to the 6th top ranked earner for PayPerPost the other day. What's cool about this is unlike most of the others in the top ten ranking, I haven't won any contests or gotten any of the high dollar posts (from $700 to $2,000), all of my earnings have been the result of my blogging reviews. I'm the number three top ranked earner on LoudLaunch.

2. I'm on marriage number three, trying to see if the saying "third time is the charm" is true. So far? So good.

3. I self published a book a few years ago and have actually sold over 100 copies, which means I passed the point of friends and family being the ones to buy the book. Point of pride is no one who has bought the book took advantage of the 30 day money back guarantee.

4. Thanks to a television interview done by one of my favorite local reporters, Ronnie Dahl, about my book and my research into local cemeteries, I was reunited with a very close friend of mine when she saw me on TV and found me thanks to that interview. We are now back enjoying being best friends and it's been our one year anniversary as being best buds again.

5. Since the time I've started doing paid blogging I've been able to help one family from being evicted, donated to some great organizations that need my help and have donated to several local candidates. I've also done some fun things like buy a yearly membership to the Toledo Zoo for my family, in the past people helped me when we were in crisis so it's important to me to try to give back in the same spirit that people extended to me.

6. Recently I was asked to consider running for City Council for the district I live in. After a great deal of soul searching I'm not going to do it, but it was cool to be asked by the person who asked me.

7. I have 7 blogs, I'll probably stop at 7 since 7 is my lucky number. I spend most of my time on three of them, here at LCS, Glass City Jungle and Great Expectations.

8. I have always wanted to do two things, be a storm chaser and drive the whole distance of Route 66. I'm hoping if all goes well to be able to save enough extra money to do both next summer and of course blog about the adventures.

Here's where the twist comes in. Rather than tag 8 people, I'm going to include this tag challenge in my next Blog it! Toledo column that is exclusively online through the Toledo Free Press, it will come out on next Friday and everyone who responds to my tagging that week will get a mention in the very next column which would come out the Friday after that. So if you've ever wanted to have your blog written about in a newspaper? Here's your chance...

Congratulations on #1, and I do like your twist!

Very, very nice!
(And no, I'm not a spammer.)

Who would ever call you a spammer?

I love you and all of your purpleness.

Tidbit comment, followed by compliment containing the word nice... all I'm missing is a few dumped links and I'd be set.

Oh, and doing that on a few hundred blogs a day; I guess that's the big difference.

I didn't realize you were up to 7 blogs now! Good list :)

Hey Retta, thanks for stopping by, I've been at 7 for a while, three of them I don't do any sponsored postings on. One of those was actually a specialized blog to cover a murder trial that gets updated when something is happening with the appeals process.

Very impressed by your self-publishing a book. I tried for years to get my short fiction published without success. Never tried self-publishing though.

I used Cafe Press, it was very easy to do through them and they take care of everything for you when it comes to publishing the book on demand, billing and shipping.

I looked at some other options but for me they did an excellent job and the quality of the book from the individual pages to the color cover is very well done.

kvatch,

Have you tried your short fiction in some of the on-line markets? While you usually must publish the first few free (to get name recognition), there are some on-line markets that get a lot of attention from publishers and editors.

I'm hardly a success-case in the matter (one poem published for pay, several short-stories published for free, discouragement and frustration to follow), but I do have some experience and can give you some tips if you're interested in pursuing that further.

Can I publish a book on all the mistakes I have made? It will be a self-help book because somehow I have managed to stay alive and married
