Today CNN is reporting:
Democratic Senate Majority Leader Sen. Harry Reid said the defeat is "not a time for pointing fingers. It's not a time for casting blame. It's a time for recognition that immigration is a problem that needs to be fixed."
Sometimes I wonder if they think we don't remember anything any of them said before...I realize that changes were made or at least attempted to be made but it's still very disappointing that Congress could not at least work towards some progress. Waiting until after the 2008 elections is only going to make the immigration issue worse...

Amnesty only made the immigration problem worse, too. Reagan tried it, and it made it worse. Presently, just talking about amnesty made it worse.
In order to make really progress they need to devise a way to better reward those who go through the legal immigration process, and NOT reward those who come here illegally.
