Do you like spooky stories?

My earliest memory of a spooky story was one that was told happened to a relative of mine, he was supposedly not a very nice person and had hurt quite a few people. He then became ill with what was called at that time a "brain fever" and ended up having to live above the home of another relative unable to totally care for himself. One day while the relatives were gone there was a fire in the upstairs and when the fire department arrived they found him dead from the smoke inhalation but what was strange was the door was not locked but it appeared someone or something had prevented him from getting out of the room, while to the fireman it appeared not locked he had tried to open the door to the point of trying to claw through it leaving bloody marks on the door and wearing his fingers down to the bone trying to get out before the smoke killed him.

Similar to the 1408 Movie that was written by Stephen King, that room was believed to be haunted. The relatives after rebuilding the damage saw and felt strange things when they went up stairs and eventually sold the house. As I learned from watching the trailer, no one stayed there very long. Whoever bought the house did not live there long and eventually the house sat vacant. The house became one of those that you told your friends about to scare them and then you would dare them to walk into the yard...then to climb the outside steps to the upstairs apartment...Like Mike, the character John Cusack plays in the 1408 Movie very few were brave enough to venture up to the door to that room and I would expect even fewer would have gone inside had they been able to.
