The fantasy and reality of starting over...

I couldn't help but think of a song with a bit of a change. "When you're alone
And life is making you lonely, You can always Shelter Offshore. I think most of us at one time or another have thought about what it would be like to just leave and try living and working abroad. For those of us who use the internet to eck out a small existance, realistically you can work from anywhere. Well, anywhere there is a high speed connection so that would rule out some parts of the world, but it is tempting to sit here and ponder how awesome it would be to be blogging from Belize or France or so many other locations.

I've looked at information as far as housing prices over seas and there are still many places that are pretty inexpensive even when compared to the Toledo housing market. I was surprised to find that there is even information out there on how to take your pet with you to live abroad.

My interest in this fantasty moment is not related to offshore asset protection but I understand that is something that is of interest to others. Though of course if I am going to dream, it would be nice to dream about a scenario where I was actually worried about how to best protect my financial assets. I was under the impression that it was only multi-millionaires or shady characters that were the sort who concentrated on offshore banking, but the more I read about it the more I learn the various reasons people do decide to go beyond my fantasy into their own reality of just starting over...
