The Endorsement Elite?

I didn't realize they existed but after reading Chris Cillizza's blog report from the Washington Post, now I do...Some selections from the article:

Why "elite"? Because not all endorsements are created equal. Every one of the states set to vote between Jan. 29 and Feb. 5 has hundreds upon hundreds of elected officials, labor bosses, cash collectors and other political Svengalis being courted by each of the campaigns on a daily basis. But for this feature, we are aiming to identify the cream of the crop -- the people or institutions who bring a candidate something of real value, whether its votes, money or message.

For those of you who are hard core political junkies like me, I think this will be a very interesting series to follow, I do think he makes a valid point that some of these endorsements could come with power, though how large of an impact they will have as far as the outcome could be interesting.

Do you think that endorsements will mean as much this year?

It seems to me that more people are paying attention for themselves.

And there's that ole disenchantment with the traditional "party" picks this time...

I'm looking for some surprises ;-)
