Difference between US and Iraq...

The deaths of 32 students at Virginia Tech understandably send a nation into shock and horror, days of news coverage, people trying to figure out the motivation. Blog posts and radio hosts and people everywhere talk about how horrible it was that many innocent people lost their lives in one day.

Yet, in Iraq at least 131 people were murdered and at least 164 were wounded. It's a mere by-line in then media...We've become desensitized to losses in Iraq...I suppose the good news is we as a nation have not become that way when it hits home...

It could also be that many do not see Iraqis or Africans or many other people as equal or as important as Americans are. There are people who still think that Darfur is not worthy of supporting
