John Edwards House Party

Yes, I'm actually thinking about doing this, if nothing else it will give people a chance to know where I live to throw rotten veggies at my windows or some such thing (lol).

Seriously though, this just came in via email:
Today, we're pleased to announce our next National Day of Action: The National John Edwards House Party Day! On Wednesday, March 28th, we're asking every member of One Corps to host a John Edwards House Party, invite their friends, family, and neighbors to learn more about John's campaign, and get involved.

After your amazing work on energy issues in January and health care issues in February, we're counting on One Corps members this month to help expand our base of support and bring new resources into the campaign at this crucial time.

House parties are an easy, powerful, and fun tool to do just that, and hosting one is amazingly simple. You just sign up online to host your party (and optionally create a personal fundraising goal). Then we'll give you a step-by-step guide for hosting a successful event and send you a "Meet John Edwards" DVD to show at your party. Just invite your friends, bring a few snacks, and you're ready to go!

If you are interested in more information on how you can hold a John Edward's House Party visit here to learn more.

I don't like going to house parties to buy stuff. Though an interesting way to get money for the campaign, I just don't see this working. The way most people tink, they will be looking for the Tupperware or think to themselves if the money is really going to Edwards. I see lots of room for scamming here.

Well, I could make it also be one of those lingerie type house parties too. After all considering most times we end up being screwed by politicians we could at least have the proper night wear...

I should add as a serious note, you don't try to raise money at these house parties, they want you to raise awareness of the candidate hoping that you'll decide to support them, which later could result in you donating.

Umm, just how many lingerie clad ladies do you think you could expect and, could I bring a camera and "cover" the event for my blog?
