Hillary Clinton calls on Attorney General to resign...

This email came in just a bit ago from Hillary Clinton - she is demanding that Attorney General Alberto Gonzales resign and she'd like you to sign a petition at www.hillaryclinton.com/resignnow to show you would like him to resign as well.

Part of her statement:
Why should Gonzales resign? Because he is at the center of a widening scandal over the firing of several U.S. attorneys -- firings we now know to be political. These attacks on the impartiality of the federal government's prosecutors are a genuine threat to the foundations of our justice system.

It's so bad that one U.S. attorney in Arkansas was fired to make room for a former aide to Karl Rove.

Gonzales's chief of staff has already resigned over the firings, but the attorney general himself is ultimately responsible for what happened. Join me in asking for him to resign now

There's more information at her website if you are interested in more details.

I want him to resign because if he really was so detached from the process, he shouldn't be in charge anyway. I think that is worse than actually being directly involved in the controversial firings

I think we're going to see Gonzales' resign anyway. Bu$hCo seems to have a threshold, and then...

How many times do people hire those they know and/or respect-- competent people instead of those they don't see as doing such a hot job? And why would they want people in appointed or hired positions who are hostile to the administration? or people who won't prosecute cases the adm. wants prosecuted --like the child porn cases. (I'm not saying that's the situation, but they prosecuted very little vice under Clinton I hear.) So adm. recommends people to have the jobs--nothing to do with political paybacks or croneyism.

So he wanted to hire a Rove associate? Probably a sharp attorney. So harriet Miers (was that her name --Bush's court nominee) had recommendations to make about whom they respected and wanted in these positions for whatever reasons --including similar world view --and proficiency? Doesn't everyone in office do that when it is their turn to do so?

If I recall, Hillary fired the career employees in the White House travel office on trumped- up charges in order to hire her Arkansas cronies. And got away with it --yet those were career jobs and considered non-partisan.

In DC and national politics there is so much of "the pot calling the kettle black," I don't know how they can stand themselves.

Hillary resigned to the attorney general?

Great news, but kind of unorthodox, don't you think?

Did anyone tell Obama yet?

(Yes, I know, I'm having way too much fun with this, heh, heh, heh...)
