Erin's Birthday today...I now officially have only one child...

Today Erin turns 18, so officially I have one minor child left. It's amazing how quickly the time has gone. It seems like just yesterday she was learning how to walk, stubbornly insisting on walking on her tiptoes rather than her feet and then the whole febrile seizure scare where I really thought we were going to lose her and she had to learn how to walk all over again. Once again, stubbornly on tiptoe.

I used to think when they were all little and I had the four that were between 17 months and two years apart that those were the hardest days and that the easier ones would come when they get older. Boy, was I wrong...The hardest part about being a parent is the balance of holding on and letting go. Assisting and advising yet knowing they are going to make some mistakes and while you do your best? You have to trust within yourself that you've taught them the best you could to make good decisions.

So it is with a mixture of happiness and some sadness at how quickly the time has passed that I say...Happy Birthday Erin...and I love you.

:-)

Hey, I want to say Happy Birthday to Erin also. So -- Happy B-day, Erin!
And by the way, LR, I certainly know of what you speak in regards to how quickly time has passed, balancing and letting go, happiness and sadness. and all that good stuff. Been there.

I can't wait until I am officially no longer a kid. I figure I should be about 115, if I live that long.

Happy Birthday to Erin. I will drink a strawberry banana smoothie to celebrate. And also to rehydrate after my workout :-)

HBD to Erin and many more. Now is the time to get going with work and start to contribute to your mom's retirement. Or you can just keep the status quo and make should your mom will be eating catfood in her twilight years.

Just kidding!!

Enjoy your birthday Erin. Just remember you can be tried as an adult now.

Of course good grammer and spelling start a major decline as you get older.
