Photo Hunt - Antique

This is one of my favorite pictures, to the point I selected it as the cover for my book about Ohio history and my search thru cemeteries to find information on my father's family. I decided it fit "Antique" because the stone is so old and faded that there is no way you can tell who the headstone was created for, only the memory that it was for someone that was loved.

That is an absolutely gogeous picture and tombstone! I almost posted one of the many tombstones pictures that I have and then figured I had already done a cemetery last week so needed to do something different!

Have a great weekend!

I hope that you find the history that you are looking for. Cemeteries have some really old monuments.

I would love to walk through some of the old, old graveyards in Europe and even here in the US and take pictures of the headstones... It is on my list of things to do.
Lovely picture for the theme.

This is wonderful! Eerie, but really cool for the weeks theme none-the-less....oh what stories these headstones could tell us, huh?

My antiques photos have been posted. Happy weekend.

As you're growing up as a teenager, there are a number of things that you look forward to; getting your drivers

license, graduating from high school, going to your senior prom, having your first date and having your first beer.

The problem with this last one is that the drinking age and the thing you want make it something that you just can't

have yet. And still, you want it and will go to any lengths to get it.

Underage beer drinking is certainly no secret and to try to sweep it under the carpet isn't going to make it go

away. But the most odd thing about underage drinking when it comes to beer is that even after kids sneak their first

beer, they still want to have another one. If you're wondering why that sounds so strange then you need to think

back to when YOU had your first beer. It was pretty nasty tasting. Let's be honest, beer is bitter and is an

acquired taste. Very few people, if any at all, enjoyed their first beer. Many even get sick after it because of the

taste or the fact that they're not used to the alcohol yet.

That is an unusual headstone. At least I haven't' seen one like it. It is sad that no one can tell who is there now.

It was a unique headstone, it was that and the sun setting that made it catch my eye when we found it. I've been in quite a few cemeteries and haven't seen one exactly like that one yet.

An excellent choice sweetheart, I would have to agree with hootin' anni on the fact that if these headstones colud talk they would have lots to say.

Nice Picture

That truly is a brilliant picture and certainly does fit the this weeks' theme perfectly! We have a cemetery near here too where there are stones from the late 1800's and I always find it a shame to see that the names have all worn off through the years. Thank you so much for visiting me:-) Hugs xox
