Trying this on a Mac is difficult...

Okay, so my one daughter Erin, who is taking classes at the University of Toledo instead of attending High School for her senior year is taking a class that involves medical terminology. She has to use software that will only load on my computer, it won't run on hers and my other computer that is working is my new little Mac mini thingy that I bought to learn how to use a Mac. I can handle the basic operational aspects of the Mac, (Finally) However what has caused me problems today is the missing features at both Blogger and over on Wordpress. Take Blogger as an example, all of the options to change text size, color, that were normally on a bar above the text window that I type my blogs in are gone.

It's also harder to keep track of new emails - even while minimizing the window it doesn't give you the number of emails that have come in until you mouse over the small window.

It makes me wonder why, and it also makes me wonder why a College such as UT would make their software that's required for a class so difficult to run on any computer as well as not include a CD for a Mac. However the Mac Mini is really cute and it's hard to believe that much computer power can reside in something that is not much bigger than a traditional cd drive.

I love Macs. I always tell people that they are the smart persons computer. Of course, since my wife's work doesn't have many smart people, they switched to PC and now so have we. I am still using an old iBook though to keep the dream of using Macs as my sole computer again

If I could use the same features like here or on wordpress it would be easier - I have been having fun playing around with Garageband but I don't understand why the same blogger program would be different on the mac.

I've toyed with the idea of getting a Mac simply because I've been told that if I truly want to do graphics for a living that I need to learn on a Mac because most major graphics firms use Macs exclusively. But alas, the extra cash just hasn't been there to purchase an extra computer. Who knows though, maybe I'll get one in '07 ;-)
