Those warning bells just go off...

What type of a honest mechanic would tell a minor that the car they were driving was going to crash if repairs were not made that not only another mechanic did not discover on a recent repair and not bother to even talk with the parents of said minor before they took money and started to do the repair?

To me that cries SHADY! Yes, I put Miguel on the job of dealing with this guy but frankly I'm disgusted right now. It's bad enough when a mechanic tries to take advantage of a person anyway, but this guy who is supposed a dad of one of her "friends" should know better. I'm thinking he's trying to make a quick buck and is extremely exaggerating normal wear and tear to scare her into coughing up money that she really doesn't have right now. Not to mention the whole legalities involved since she is a minor and the car he's repairing is not even in her name.

Yes, it's not very bright of my daughter to fall for it and to call me after she already gave this yahoo money as well as letting him work on the car either.

This is obviously not Amos you're talking about...

Nope, it's not - Amos would never ever do anything like that -

Nor will he be thrilled when he finds out - he looked at the car when we first bought it and said it was okay for the price.

Hopefully, you don't have to get the law involved in this.

Little did you realize that your daughter was taking college level courses in the college of hard knocks.

I would have thought enough to have discussed this with the car's owner before consenting to the repair of a car that was not her own though.

Well, ti that time of the year, the time to pick up some easy money, for presents...
