I thought this was a cool opportunity, to write about what I spent my first PayPerPost payment on and what I planned to do with the future money I earn from blogging thanks to PayPerPost. My first payment for my first two posts of just over $22.00 was just a few days ago and I spent it on something I have always wanted to do but couldn't justify in our family budget. I bought the domain and webhosting for glasscityjungle.com so that I can move my local/political blog Glass City Jungle off of blogspot and on to it's own domain. It will give me the opportunity to do much more with that blog that I can do just using blogspot.
What am I going to do with the remaining $187.55 that is to come and future money I earn from posting? That will go to buying things my children wanted but that we also couldn't justify in our family budget. One example might be replacing our Play Station that was stolen that both my husband and the girls miss playing. Or perhaps get cable tv again since that was something we cut out of our budget quite some time ago, or maybe invest in a better pair of "rabbit ears" for our current tv. :-) Or maybe an even bigger dream, seeing how well Colleen has done, it's entirely possible that I could help make some serious contributions to our downpayment on our house.
This may sound silly but since I can't work outside of the home right now, I missed earning my own money. PayPerPost is something that I can do right here from home that gives me a chance to have that feeling of independence. It was an awesome feeling to log into paypal and to see the money deposited there, and that is because of my friend Tor over at Tor's Rants who I owe a big thank you too for telling me about PayPerPost.

Okay, now you've got me seriously curious. Tell me a little bit about it, please. I'll look over the link, too, but I want to know about your experiences -- though knowing you actually got a "check" helps!
Oops. I'm out. No gaps for over thirty days. Damn!
You've blogged long enough that once you're back for another month I'd suggest trying it, worst case scenario they'll tell you that you have to wait a bit longer.
What I like about it is I pick what I want to blog about, there are usually at least 100 or so choices offering varying amounts of requirements such as how many words do they want, specific things that advertiser would like highlighted and varying amounts of dollar amounts offered to write the post. If I visit the link and it's not something I want to write about? I don't, and that has happened a few times.
That does sound rather ideal. I probably will try in a month or two, just to see what they say.
I am also now going to look into it. I started before, but got distracted by something
Sounds good. It may make me to get off my virtual butt and start my blog. (Someone get Lisa some water. I believe she fainted) But Ihave to looked into it, then try to understand the right way of building the thing, find something to blog about, blog everyday, get harassed by not do nice people, ask Lisa about a thousand questions, worry that life might change or stay the same, etc. Screw it. Sounds like too much work for my lazy butt. But...
And to proofread before publishing. That's the BIG one for me.
lmao - well C when you have a blog you do have the ability to go back and edit so it's not like the comments where you can't.
Though you did almost make me faint there for a second...
:-)
I just thought of another up-side to this! It just might count as business writing experience!
Lisa,
Great to see you've been doing so well with it! It's a nice feeling to know that there's a flow of money coming down the pipeline thirty days out, isnt' it?
