We don't really have to worry about terrorists...

We seem to do a good enough job killing each other...I read an opinion piece by Michael Miller of the Toledo Free Press where he comments that:

Osama bin Laden and his buddies are wasting a lot of time and resources plotting to kill Americans. If they stopped to look at the big picture, they would see we really do not need their help.

Then I read this story on CNN. Killing adults is of course not good - but to murder two children who according to the article:

"The woman in a defensive posture, had both of the children surrounded, underneath her arms, in an effort that we can assume was to protect them from the gunfire," Mascara said.

Of course the cameras that are supposed to be on, were not on which will make catching whoever did this more difficult.

Things like this make me wonder about the soul of our country...

The soul of our country is fine, it is the people that we should worry about. I have never given in to the idea that terrorists are a bigger danger to us than we are. How many murders do we have a year and how many more deaths caused by recklessness or stupidity?

It's probably because the President hasn't declared a war on stupidity...

It is generally bad form to declare a war on a trait you possess. Stupidity has nothing to do with intelligence, just the lack of a desire to learn.

I wonder what kills more Americans, terrorists or guns? We pass laws to fight terrorism and to weaken gun laws. Apparently the only amendment that means anything is the one that helps kill a lot of Americans

I was being sarcastic since our government seems to declare war on things like the War on Drugs, the War on Terrorism that really miss the real aspect of what the cause is. I don't know if making guns harder to get would change anything but it might have a larger impact than what we are spending on terrorism.

Maybe we forget going after the guns and declare a war on bullets
