That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.
At times I wonder if we are approaching another major change where a new Declaration of Independence will be necessary. With that, realizing this is a much shorter post than I typically write, I offer it up to those of you who visit to give your thoughts.

I think we are getting close to some type of change. I think we are nearing a time when there will be a shift in political ideologies and alliances that leads us to a new party that forms as the 2 main parties fracture. Then, the 2 main parties will consist of the fringes and the bulk of our leadership will focus on what is best for the country and not for their party.

Here's what scares me. With alot of the apathy of the American public, would it be wise for the People to abolish the government and estblished a new one when most of the People don't even know all the Bill of Rights, or quote them wrong? Me included.
The best way is to vote out the old and bring in the new (who may not be as corupt) and start the term limits. This way the old governmentis abolished and the new is started.
It is interesting that the founding fathers would trust the Public with change when they didn't trust them with the vote and thus the Electorla College is formed. Just an observation.
Right now I want to abolish the NJ government with the state shutdown. It's a bit personal for me since my wife is a non-essential state employee. Four of the last five years a state budget wasn't completed on time and there was no need for a shutdown. I didn't trust Corizine in the Senate and not now. He's 1% sales tax raise is short sighted and is doomed to fail, because when government gets more money, it spends more money.

Yeah, me too. But are we going to do? A bunch of millionares getting catered meals and bottled water on the taxpayers' dime while yelling and crying that they aren't getting their way for the good of the people, while the people can't pay the rent on time.

Nowadays, there's a fellow named George W that thinks it is his sole and exclusive right to alter or abolish the government of other nations, as well as our own.

I also see this country at a crossroads, because of the incessant taxing the income/wages of productive Americans.
Maybe the next pride of "young lions" will do better, after our present government collapses.
Provided, that the young ones forget the agendas and loyalties of the old ones and think of the country's best interests firsts.
