Because we realized the other day that there is no way to get a Queen sized box spring upstairs we had a dilemma. We briefly discussed buying a split King because we've always wanted a King size bed and our new bedroom would be large enough, but money is an issue and there was some debate as to could we "squish" a King size mattress enough to get it thru the stairwell.
So...I've liked the look of platform beds for quite some time. Yet they are also pretty expensive. Enter...Miguel and Lisa Bed Builders!
The plan is a basic platform bedframe with four posts each with a french gothic spindle top. Even using pre-cut posts we've priced it out as well under $100.00 to build. The least expensive platform bed frame we found was online only thru Wal-mart and it would have been close to $200.00 with delivery. It didn't look very sturdy either, we've opted for slat construction to hold the mattress.
We also made the discovery today that under the coats of latex paint the wood doors to the bedrooms upstairs appear to be in pretty good shape and are gorgeous. The people that painted over them didn't strip the previous finish so the paint comes off pretty easy. So we are no longer going to re-paint the doors.

Good luck on the bed building!
And, You'll never regret the work that you put into the doors. That kind of "sweat equity" pays dividens forever.
It’s not bad to live at villa.
Last July I was in Cyprus at Cyprus villas for rent and it was nice. Low cost living with wide range of luxury, fabulous ocean. My girlfriend and I were walking on the beach and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets, we had a great time during these Cypriot evenings, tasting wine. Even the owner of the villa was so nice and explained us where we can hire a car and have a good time.
