Are my neighbors lemmings or am I the stupid one...

Friday there was a note left on all of the doors of our apartment complex. It was to all residents of the Cloisters, which this complex is not a part of. Cloisters is a bit further down the road from us. I thought it was just some type of courtesy notice to let us know if we needed to access the management building for our complex which is located at the Cloisters that we wouldn't be able to because they are stripping the parking lot over there.

Why? Not just because we have a different name and if it was for us it should have mentioned our complex but also because of this:

Seems to me it would be pretty hard to stripe the lot over here until that huge pile of mulch is moved. Not to mention to do all of the Cloisters and all of the other parking lots of our complex I think that would take more than just one day. The trailer was moved just a short time ago, it's been sitting here for a few days.

Yet, this morning all of the people who live here have lined up their cars partly on the grass and partly on the street (That is not where the notice said people should park which is another reason I didn't think it was for us. The notice said to park at Home Depot or Kohl's which is closer to Cloisters.)

It's now almost 1:00 p.m. and no one has showed up to tow the Sunbird (the notice said all cars had to be moved by 8:00 a.m.) which is dead and has to be towed over to the new house so that hopefully the person who promised to get it running again will eventually do so. I did try to call the management office to ask but didn't get a live person or a call back. I'm left to wonder if one person parked out there and the rest saw that and thought they had to move too or if I will get to fight with a tow truck driver...I'm leaning towards the lemming theory...

And you wonder why the Rethugs run this country?

It does remind me of some of the Candid Camera type TV shows where they would have people start a line then watch to see how many would join the line that had no idea what the line was for.

So far, no stripes, and the dead Sunbird is the only car in the parking lot.

You know what they say, "if life gives you lemmings, make lemmingade."

I live in one of those complexes too, and am also in a similar situation with a car. I am able to move it, but not very quickly, and it shouldn't really be moved at all. Like you (I believe) I'm also in the process of buying a house, so I can't wait to not have to deal with this crap. Whats the most frustrating part i think is that they didn't end up stripping the lot! I actually went into the office on Monday and they said "umm...maybe wednesday or thursday....you know....weather permitting..."

And, they have more that one orifice that is sensitive and responds to squeezing ;-)
