Okay trying something new....

Jason over at The Glitch told me about box.net as a place I could try to upload the movie that our family friend stars in that I wrote about after seeing the Star Wars Light Saber battle video yesterday. So I don't know how well this will work, I do know the downside to box.net is it took five hours for this to upload. But it was a 523 MB file and if it works? Will be awesome since I have no idea how to compress a Quicktime movie.

Don't try downloading it unless you have a faster connection than dsl - it's taking about an hour to download on my dsl at 149 KB/second. Jason, being the sweetheart that he is, is going to try to compress the video so, I'd suggest waiting for that.

Okay the update, it was taking way to long to download thru box.net, which I still think will work for other uses just not files that big. Jason was able to work his magic and make the file alot smaller, down to a little over 16 MB so I could upload it to youtube so you can see it here if you want to:

Thank you again Jason!

And my blog...it has returned from the void!

So far, it's taking a while to open, it's downloading at 144 KB per second which is better than the upload, the upload speed was 39 KB per second.

Good luck! It's almost kind of nice to see the "I don't know everything" in action, but I hope it works out for you!

Thankfully Jason knows a lot more than I do, I do think it would be a great service for people to store background images and music in but not files that big.

I have yet to acquire a place to store such pieces in. I know I could, I just haven't gotten that far.

Well, my blog is kind of back, I can't edit or publish anything but at least the 403 Cannot be found error is gone.

For those of you lucky enough to have not experienced it, one of Blogspot's servers went down last night so any blog that was on it was inaccessible.

Welcome back from the void - or are we actually back IN the void??

I think we are still part of the void, I just got another error message - lol.

It is our new mystery....will we see our blogs when we go to them or will they be *poof*

Congratulations on the article you were in, I read it on BFD.

played for me without a hitch... but I'm afraid your friend is no match for SWK ;-)

Aaron, I know it wasn't as good as there or the video Jason had, but considering it was a few years ago and this was a school project. I thought it was worth sharing.

It's also better than some of the projects we've done that I have on video...
