Tomorrow I'll be exuberant again....
Some days you just feel like bleh...Today is one of them, not health wise but the blogosphere and local frustrations.
There are still somethings that I feel are promising like seeing the Lucas County Young Democrats/UT College Dems meeting last night. Yet I find this archiac refusal to use the internet by so many of our local politicians to be frustrating. I've had to come face to face with the reality that *gasp* some people are not like me. They don't use the internet to research, they don't read blogs and they don't have this endless quest for information that I seem to be at times haunted with.
I want to inspire them all to get out there and see what is on the information highway and the blogosphere. Then....I see some of the soap opera drama that is happening by bloggers. I ask myself...is this the way to promote blogs? Of course people can disagree and even on the blogosphere there are going to be spats from time to time. Political bloggers especially really care deeply about issues else they would'nt be blogging about politics, we'd all be blogging about knitting or cooking or cute kid tricks. That's why at times I do fluff here. To give myself a break from becoming totally politically enthralled.
Right now the big discussion on some of the blogs is being anonymous versus not. I'm not anonymous, well kind a sort of because I use my maiden name. And now I've been to events where people know what I look like and I was even on TV soo those few who have seen me, I'm not anonymous to. Yet, I can understand why someone would want to remain anonymous. If you remain anonymous people can't try to dig up information from your past that has no bearing on much of anything except you do have a past. By the way...I do have a past. If you think I'm a jerk, my past would have no bearing on that. If you think I'm nice or somewhat credible my past would really have no bearing on that either. Or at least it shouldn't. What I or any blogger, anonymous or not should be judged on is; how do they blog?
My own personal life has been one mess after another, but does that have any bearing on how I blog? I don't think so.

Yes - not unlike the advent of any new technology, there are going to be people who can't recognize change, or for whom change is too scary to consider.
Unfortunately, some Midwestern cities are led by people for whom the Internet is eyed with a great deal of suspicion...
Well I'll keep plugging away describing the advantages of blogging and the fact that it is also free which could be of huge benefit to those who don't have alot of campaign funding yet want to try to make more of an impression of "openess" as well as being in step with technology.
As well as encourage people to check out blogs. Even if they aren't political there are alot of things out there, a something for just about everyone situation.
Lisa Renee plays her role as the Welcome Wagon Lady of the blogosphere... (lol)
I switched to the Me4President instead of my name because people at work kept trying to search for my name to see if I was writing about work. Since I often write about my bosses when I talk about leadership, I made the switch. For some reason they haven't been smart enough to find my blog any other way. Probably part of the reason I write about them being dumbasses.
I wrote a hard hitting piece on al Quail-da today that will shake the foundations of this country. I couldn't even type that with a straight face.
I liked your piece me4 and even though I know the secret as to who you are? They would have to pry it from me...lol
After what I've seen recently I'm beginning to think that those who are anonymous really are better off in many ways. However? I've been "outed".
:-)
You wanna laugh? My horoscope for today:
You've decided that rather than being a follower -- even though you're always extremely choosy about whom you follow -- you're better suited to being a leader. Well, good for you. Bet your appreciative audience will agree -- not to mention the folks under your 'command' who'll be amazed and astounded at your leadership abilities. See? Just because you're quietly powerful doesn't mean you won't be effective.
:-)
Sounds right.
I was outed on the local paper chat once by a guy who was pro-Bush. I just tried to use fair and intelligent reasoning why I didn't like Bush. All his arguments were why won't Kerry release his records, pictures of fetuses, and attacks on people. He put my name, address, and phone number on there. He was, however, anonymous.
I always think of changing it back to Scott, but I feel like some Founding Father using a pen name to get his ideas out there
I kind of look at it as a Peter Parker/Spiderman thing...Scott privately and me4president on the web.
:-)
I think that is a good one too. Inside every great superhero, there is a Clark Kent, Peter Parker, or Bruce Wayne
Or Shoeshine Boy.
All I will say about this is what I said on an earlier blog here.
People just plain suck.
'nuff said
Better late than never--I've been sick, and out, and gone, and *gasp* the blogosphere goes on without me.
While blogging does have some unique "perks," if you will, people are people and do both incredibly stupid hurtful things and incredibly sweet helpful things. I highly recommend, as a general principal, ignoring the former and clinging to the latter. Of course, my ability to follow my own advice does have a tendency to slip, but alas, I'm a person too!
I'm sorry you were sick Stephanie but glad you are feeling better.
:-)
Thank you, Lisa.

Is this the kind of thing you want to see for Ohio? It's gaining popularity in Wisconsin!
