I put the link to the category I was selected as a finalist for on the right sidebar as well as a link to the main page so you can vote for other categories. You can vote once per category every 24 hours.
I'm not really planning on making the focus of my blog the next 10 days be all about this. While I'd love to win, I realize this is more about blog popularity and shameless self-promotion isn't something I typically choose to do. For me, being selected as a Finalist, I consider a win no matter what the final count ends up being because I'm included with some pretty good blogs. If you enjoy my blog then please vote for me, if you want to vote every day that's awesome and I thank you. There are alot of other categories as well and some of the Life, Liberty, Property blogs have also made it as finalists as well as Samantha from the Open Trackback Alliance.
The website for the Weblog awards seems to be running really slow right now, probably because of the initial voting rush. If you are on a dial up, I'd recommend waiting until later else you'll end up being frustrated at the time it takes the pages to load.
I do this because it's fun and after seeing some of the craziness start already over this? I had to decide for myself what which direction I wanted to go in. So I pick, Yes I would be happy to win but either way I have the awesome "finalist" logo and I've read some pretty darn good blogs that without this contest I would have never had the chance to read. Hopefully that's what you will get out of this as well whether you are a finalist, a nominee or a regular reader of blogs.
:-)
Technical Update: If you try to vote? Don't be suprised if selections don't come up. If you get just a screen with no names listed? Try again later. Seems like they are still having technical difficulties.

Congrats! That is exciting. Wish you the best. lgp
Thanks Lyn, it was cool to be nominated and awesome to be a finalist. I also found some new blogs that have been fun to read so who could ask for more?
:-)
Congratulations. Noone deserves it more. Except for maybe me, but I am controversial like George W Bush. People came down pretty hard on me after I hired Lilly as a writer. They said that dogs can't type and she wasn't qualified. Jackasses.
Since I'm a fan of Lilly? I'd point out that if the Whitehouse had her? We'd be in much better shape.
:-)
According to an unconfirmed source who managed to actually get the page to load rather than the "page cannot be displayed" error I keep getting. I do have more than one vote now.
lmao
:-)
Lilly is very intelligent and has great ideas for the country. Bones for everyone is her mantra.
I felt like I was really being wallopped until I found out the blog that is winning in the category I'm in has had over 300,000 visitors - 1,497 average daily visits.
So heck I'm surprised given that he's only at 53 votes. (I'm also surprised he's so low in the ecosystem) But? such is the blogosphere....It's like David versus Goliath without a weapon - lmao
Finally, it's working!
Well, ya got one vote from me (so far).
I used one of my Chicago addresses ;-)
